Announcement of vacancy in the office of superintendent

The Mount Markham Central School District Board of Education invites interested, highly qualified educators to submit applications for the position of superintendent. The successful candidate should be available to assume the position on Sept. 1, 2025.

This is a confidential search for all applicants from receipt of application through appointment to the superintendency.

Screening & selection

The Board of Education is being assisted in the selection by Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES District Superintendent D.J. Shepardson, who will work with the board to screen applicants and make recommendations regarding candidates. The board will make all decisions concerning the selection process, the evaluation of candidates and the final appointment.

Members of the Board of Education should not be individually contacted.

Search Timeline

Application materials must be received by April 25, 2025.

Screening and selection of candidates will take place between April and May 2025.

Board of Education interviews will take place during May and June 2025.

The new superintendent is to begin employment on Sept. 1, 2025.

Interested and qualified applicants should submit the following materials no later than April 25, 2025:

• Copies of all certifications including administrative certification
