Tuition, Fees & Associated Costs
2024 - 2025 Tuition and Fees (Subject to change) Payable to: Herkimer BOCES, by the beginning of each semester.
Full Time Tuition - $17,115
Part-Time 1st Year Tuition- $8,145
Part-Time 2nd Year Tuition - $8,967
Non-Refundable Student Fee - $300 The student fee is a universal charge covering normal costs associated with admissions, computer & medical labs, student IDs, etc.
Graduation Fee - $200 applied to student account in last semester. Graduation fee covers a graduation uniform, up to $34 for graduation pin, picture sitting fee, one composite class picture, graduation lamp and normal costs associated with graduation.
LPN KNAT Exam/Pre-admission Fee - nonrefundable - $50.00
Associated Costs: State Board Testing Fee = $343. (A charge of $200 will be placed on a student account in the last semester for State Board review. The student is responsible to pay $143 for application fee directly to State Boards online in later spring 2025.)
Books & Supplemental Online Resources: (estimated up to $1200) Books and supplemental online resources must be paid out of pocket prior to starting each class.

Federal Direct Loans (and Parents Plus Loan) (Title IV Aid)
Students must file a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for Title IV Aid (Federal Pell Grants and Federal Direct Loans). All students are encouraged to apply for aid by completing FAFSA form 2024-2025 at https://studentaid.gov/. FAFSA should be completed by June 1, 2024, for Full Time and August 1, 2024, for Part Time students. On the FAFSA: Our School Code is 014517. We are considered a Certificate less than 2 year program. Herkimer BOCES LPN Program is not eligible for NYS TAP Grant and we do not have work study positions.

You may be eligible for Financial Assistance through many area agencies including Department of Veterans, Herkimer, Madison and Oneida County Working Solutions, Workforce Development H1B Rural Grant, and ACCES-VR, formerly known as VESID.

Please be aware that if you are in default of Federal Student Loans, you are no longer eligible for Federal financial aid until the default is resolved.
FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS POLICIES FOR NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS
Incoming Full Time & Part Time
Incoming full time students must submit a FAFSA by June 1, 2024. Part time students must file a completed FAFSA by August 1, 2024. Deadline exceptions allowed to these dates only with prior approval of Herkimer BOCES Nursing Coordinator.
Students who do not have enough funding (through Grants and Federal Student Loans) to cover all tuition and fees for the semester will have to pay the balance of deficit by the first week of semester classes in order to continue attending classes.
Students applying for grants from Working Solutions or any funding source outside of PELL must submit proof of contract and the eligible dollar amount.
If attending full time is not financially feasible, please consider attending as a part time student.
Part Time Evening students may occur financial charges if FOB is lost or not returned to Herkimer BOCES.
Should you decide not to attend Herkimer BOCES Practical Nursing Program, please let us know immediately, so we can offer your seat to another student candidate.
Returning Part Time Students
Returning part time students must submit a complete FAFSA by August 1, 2024. Deadline exceptions allowed to this date only with prior approval of Herkimer BOCES Nursing Coordinator. If a complete FAFSA is not on file in the Financial Aid Office, the student will not be allowed to start when classes begin.

This program will cost $17,615 if completed within normal time. There may be additional costs for living expenses. These costs were accurate at the time of posting, but may have changed.
