Q. About when did you start working in your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. August 2024.

Q. What led you to your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. I have been an educator for 24 years. I have been a speech provider, a CPSE/CSE chairperson and most recently an elementary principal. I feel my current position at Herkimer BOCES was made for me. As an administrator for all things PK-4, I am using the knowledge I gained in all areas of my educational career.

Q. What do you find rewarding about working in your current position?

A. In my short time at BOCES, I find working with incredible adults that love children the most rewarding. Our staff at BOCES are in it for the right reasons. I'm grateful for the opportunity to grow our organization with dedicated individuals.

Q. When did you first know you wanted to work in this field and what made you feel that way?

A. When I was choosing a college many years ago, I knew I wanted to work with children. I was able to shadow a speech therapist when I was in high school, and it was that opportunity that I knew I wanted to work in an educational setting.

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer BOCES special?

A. Herkimer BOCES is special because we service our neediest of students. It is an amazing organization that puts people first. We are creative problem solvers for our unique settings.

Q. What value do you believe Herkimer BOCES provides for students and/or the community?

A. Herkimer BOCES provides an opportunity for students to learn and grow in a safe environment. We have the ability to work with students at their levels and achieve success at their own pace.
