Q. About when did you start working in your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. I have been in my current position since 2022, prior to that I was the principal of technical education beginning in 2019.

Q. What led you to your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. I have been in school administration since 2008, having previously been a middle school principal and a high school principal for 10 years at Sauquoit Valley Central School.

Q. What do you find rewarding about working in your current position?

A. I love to observe actual learning. The emerging professionals in CTE truly demonstrate what it means to learn. They are not just memorizing facts for a test but engaging in learning that will be with them the rest of their lives.

Q. When did you first know you wanted to work in this field and what made you feel that way?

A. Education in general was an "accident" for me. However, once I was in the profession, I knew I would stick with it. I knew in 2018 that I would like to try to land a position in CTE.

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer BOCES special?

A. The staff – plain and simple. I am lucky to work with some of the best people I have ever met.

Q. What value do you believe Herkimer BOCES provides for students and/or the community?

A. Our Career Tech Center prepares students for the world of work. Students are learning from industry expert teachers and do not realize the depth and level of knowledge that they are receiving for no cost to them.
