Q. About when did you start working in your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. December 2022.

-

Q. What led you to your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. English teacher for 17 years, middle school principal and then high school principal.

-

Q. What do you find rewarding about working in your current position?

A. I love inspiring and helping educators in our region. Sometimes in education, we are on our own little islands working through issues, and it's rewarding to connect resources and support to bridge these islands.

-

Q. When did you first know you wanted to work in this field and what made you feel that way?

A. During COVID, I was part of a group of administrators who met together (virtually) to share ideas and experiences through a very difficult time in education. Being able to problem-solve together was inspiring and is what I hope Instructional Support Services continues to do for BOCES and the component districts.

-

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer BOCES special?

A. The staff here patiently works through some of the most difficult situations.

-

Q. What value do you believe Herkimer BOCES provides for students and/or the community?

A. There is an African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together." When we bring all of our wisdom, experience, ideas and resources together in this region, we increase the quality of education for students in the entire county.
