Q. About when did you start working in your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. September 2021.

Q. What led you to your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. I worked for a non-profit organization for several years as a director of supports & services, responsible for supporting and managing high quality services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. When the time was right, I went back to school to follow my childhood dream of becoming a classroom teacher.

Q. What do you find rewarding about working in your current position?

A. As a special education teacher, I have the opportunity to see students surpass challenges and reach their full potential. I teach because I love making students feel safe, welcome and understood.

Q. When did you first know you wanted to work in this field and what made you feel that way?

A. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I love watching students learn and grow.

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer BOCES special?

A. I think that BOCES fosters an inclusive community where all students can learn and grow together. It plays a pivotal role in shaping the future for each student.

A. I feel that Herkimer BOCES provides students with the tools, skills and strategies enabling them to become well-rounded individuals.
