The Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES office of School to Careers recently arranged tours of businesses across the Mohawk Valley for all Dolgeville Central School District students in grades 7-11.
“Students identified their top career clusters and interests in a survey,” Herkimer BOCES School to Careers liaisons MaryBeth Napolitano and Sarah Crowe said. “The STC team then worked to place groups of students on a tour designed to raise career awareness about the amazing opportunities they have right in their own backyard.”
Tours included: the Otesaga Resort Hotel, NY Energy Zone, Gehring-Tricot, 5 Axis Motorsports, the Herkimer BOCES Adult Practical Nursing Program, the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Training Center, the Tractor Supply Distribution Center, the Stone Mill Cafe and Inn, the Herkimer College Police Academy, Insight Dairy, the Fenimore Art Museum, Otsego County Court and the Sitrin Health Care Center.
“STC would like to thank these amazing business and community leaders for taking the time to mentor and inspire these students,” Napolitano and Crowe said.
