The Mount Markham Board of Education is looking for community input on the superintendent search with the survey.

Mount Markham recently launched a search for a new superintendent of schools and is accepting applications through April 25. Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES District Superintendent D.J. Shepardson is leading the superintendent search on behalf of the Mount Markham Board of Education. The superintendent search brochure and application are available on the Herkimer BOCES website by clicking here and the Mount Markham website by clicking here.

Screening and selection of candidates will take place between April and May 2025. Board of Education interviews will take place during May and June 2025.

It’s anticipated that the new superintendent will start on Sept. 1.

The superintendent search process began following a recent announcement by current Mount Markham Superintendent Joe D’Apice that he will be resigning to take the position of superintendent of schools at the New Hartford Central School District. D’Apice will remain Mount Markham’s superintendent through April 27.

David Langone has been appointed to serve as the interim superintendent beginning April 28.
