Adult LPN Program Student Spotlight:

Name: Duane Wynn Jr.

Class: Part-time evening (graduating June 2022)

Where do you live: Utica

Tell us about your family: My family is my heart. My mom has been in the health field for over 30 years.

Tell us about your past work experience: I’ve worked in the health field for over five years, that’s when I knew I wanted to become a nurse again.

Why do you want to be a nurse? I want to be a nurse to make a difference in the world, and a mind is a terrible thing to waste, my grandmother always told me.

Why did you pick this program? It was calling my name like Harry Potter with Hogwarts. I knew something was missing in my life. I dreamed of certain parts, like going to school.

What do you find most challenging? To get to the finish line and graduate.

What do you find most rewarding? Making a change for myself and others.

What do you want to do after nursing school? Continue my education. I love learning, even though I’m a slow learner at times.
